Ms. Africa Brown has established herself a distinguished career over the past several years working along side of her famous father, Oscar Brown, Jr. this kid was said to be born in a truck due to the gypsy lifestyle of her parents At the tender age of 7 years old, she was introduced to the stage and theater appearing in one of her father’s hit musical plays entitled; “In De Beginning.” Her performance in that show won her the acclaimed Joseph Jefferson Award for best supporting actress in a musical.Mrs Brown being the youngest to receive the award at the time. Since her stage debut, she has gone on to play parts in countless other productions that includes the hit musical, “Great Nitty Gritty,” which was featured at the McCormick theater, in 1982. More recently, she has appeared in several noted engagements with the combination of her older sister Maggie Brown. Africa has spent her career on stage keeping a positive representaion of her fathers life long works.
