Folkfield Festival takes over the Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, in the Ruhr region, for four days dedicated to folk rock and folk metal. From September 10-13, 2026, this festival offers specialized programming blending medieval traditions and contemporary sonorities.
The 2026 edition brings together 5 bands from the European folk scene. On the bill: Schandmaul, German medieval rock pioneers, WIND ROSE, Italian epic power metal representatives, The O'Reillys & the Paddyhats, Irish folk specialists, THE RUMPLED and Rauhbein, embodying the diversity of the folk spectrum between tradition and modernity.
The lineup explores boundaries between medieval metal, power metal and folk song, with forays into singer-songwriter and Celtic sonorities, offering a complete panorama of reinvented traditional music.
