British Folk Rock

Bands like Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and Pentangle were the architects of this bold fusion: electrifying the ancestral repertoire of the British Isles, infusing it with a rock groove while preserving its archaic modes, narrative ballads and traditional instruments — fiddle, flute, dulcimer, Irish bouzouki.
