Dutch House

Dutch House: 20 upcoming festivals, including 9 with tickets on sale.

Dutch House, a vibrant subgenre of electro house, is defined by its heavy, often distorted basslines, typically crafted with sawtooth waves, and a driving four-on-the-floor kick drum pattern, all set to a brisk tempo of 125 to 135 BPM, creating an energetic and pulsating atmosphere. Emerging from the broader electro house scene, it draws influence from various electronic dance music styles, emphasizing raw power and rhythmic intensity. Iconic artists like Afrojack, Laidback Luke, and Chuckie are considered pioneers of the sound. Its distinctive, high-energy style has significantly impacted mainstream EDM, contributing to the global popularity of big-room house music.
