Electropop: 136 upcoming festivals, including 62 with tickets on sale.

Electropop is characterized by its electronic sound, often repetitive yet sometimes dense and rich, built upon simple, catchy pop melodies and rhythms. Emerging in the late 1970s and flourishing in the early 1980s, it developed as a distinct subgenre of synth-pop, heavily influenced by the increasing accessibility of synthesizers and electronic music technology. Iconic artists like Kraftwerk, The Human League, and Gary Numan were pivotal in defining its early sound. Its enduring appeal led to a resurgence in the 2000s, influencing mainstream pop with its distinctive electronic aesthetic.
