Psychobilly

Psychobilly: 21 upcoming festivals, including 6 with tickets on sale.

Psychobilly delivers a frenetic, high-energy sound, typically featuring a minimalist orchestration of guitar, upright bass, and drums, driven by a pulsating rhythm. This genre emerged by blending the raw energy of punk rock with the rootsy swagger of 1950s American rockabilly, later incorporating influences from garage rock and even heavy metal. Iconic artists like The Cramps and The Meteors are considered pioneers of this distinctive style. Its cultural impact is evident in the development of subgenres such as thrashabilly, punkabilly, and gothabilly, showcasing its enduring influence on alternative music scenes.
