Festival God Save The Kouign 2026: Alternative and Garage Rock in Penmarch
Created to celebrate rock in all its diversity, God Save The Kouign has become an unmissable gathering in Brittany's summer. Located at the Stade Municipal de Penmarch in South Finistère, this festival welcomes 23 artists for three days of rock, folk, and garage energy. From June 12 to 14, 2026, the festival promises an immersion in the most authentic British and American sounds.
The 2026 lineup focuses on quality Anglo-Saxon acts: The Darkness, Maruja, and The Tibbs as headliners. The roster is enriched with Frank Turner, The Subways, White Lies, and The Temperance Movement.
The festival explores a broad sonic spectrum: lo-fi garage rock, dark post-punk revival, flamboyant glam rock, rebellious folk punk, psychedelic stoner rock, roots blues rock, experimental noise rock. This stylistic richness ensures constant discovery for all lovers of saturated guitars and powerful choruses.
From June 12 to 14, 2026, God Save The Kouign transforms Penmarch into a bastion of independent rock. Join this passionate community for an intense weekend by the Atlantic Ocean!

What are the festival dates and times?
God Save The Kouign 2026 runs from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June in Penmarc'h. On Friday and Saturday, gates open at 5:00 pm, the first concert is at 5:30 pm, the last act ends at 1:45 am and the site closes at 2:00 am. On Sunday, gates open at 3:30 pm, the first concert is at 4:00 pm, the last act runs until 0:20 am and the site closes at 0:45 am.
How many stages are there?
The festival uses 2 stages, with the main stage set up under a 3,000-capacity marquee. This second stage, added in 2023, gives more room to regional and local bands.
Is there a campsite? Is it free?
The official campsite is free and located at the Pierre Boënnec stadium. It opens from Thursday 12 June at 5:00 pm until Monday 15 June at noon, with no booking required, and offers toilets, water points, showers and a waste-sorting platform. Several other campsites are available in the town (booking recommended).
What food is available on site?
A wide choice of food trucks awaits: the famous Mémé Patate, fish & chips, Caribbean specialities, vegetarian burgers, plus the essential merguez/sausages and chips. You can also try the local Kouigns bigoudènes, whose proceeds go to partner charities.
How do I pay at the festival?
Payment uses a hybrid cashless system: your bank card, smartphone or smartwatch are the main payment methods at every stand (bar, food, merchandise), with no top-up or balance to manage. To pay in cash you must load a cashless card, with a one-off 1 € fee charged the first time the card is issued.
Can children attend?
Entry is free for under-16s, with a compulsory daily ticket subject to availability. The child must be accompanied by an adult and show ID.
How do I get to the festival?
By train to Quimper, then by BreizhGo coach from Quimper into southern Finistère; carpooling and cycling (parking at the entrance) are also encouraged. Free shuttles connect the site to the campsites for a safe trip back, and several local taxis run the late-night return.
How long has the festival existed?
The festival began in June 2018 (first edition on 9 June 2018, 2,250 entries). In 2026 it celebrates its 7th edition with 24 bands on the bill, compared with 4 at the start. Learn more on the official site.
