Inkcarceration 2026 — Ohio's Metal and Tattoo Festival
Inkcarceration returns to the Ohio State Reformatory on July 19, 2026. This one-of-a-kind festival combines metal, rock, and tattoo culture in the spectacular setting of the former Ohio State Prison, the filming location of The Shawshank Redemption.
The bill is headlined by heavyweights of metal and rock: LIMP BIZKIT, nu metal icons of the 2000s, A DAY TO REMEMBER, masters of melodic metalcore, and Escape the Fate. The lineup also includes Lorna Shore, Motionless In White, ICE NINE KILLS, and CRADLE OF FILTH.
From deathcore to djent, through hardcore punk, classic heavy metal, and symphonic black metal, the programming covers an impressive metal spectrum. Alternative metal and melodic metalcore round out a bill that casts a wide net across the heavy music universe.
The Ohio State Reformatory, a decommissioned Neo-Gothic prison, provides a cinematic and uniquely atmospheric backdrop for this festival. Inkcarceration is an experience apart, blending concerts, tattoo artists, and tours of the historic penitentiary.
