What are the dates and opening hours of Festival de la Paille 2026?
The festival takes place on 24 and 25 July 2026 in Métabief, for its 25th and final edition. On Friday 24 July, the site opens at 5pm and closes at 3am; on Saturday 25 July, it opens at 4pm and closes at 3am. Note: once you leave the festival grounds, re-entry is not allowed.
Where is the festival held and how do you get there?
The festival is held at Place Xavier Authier, 25370 Métabief, in the heart of the Jura massif at the foot of the Morond (Haut-Doubs). Organisers encourage car-sharing via the official Facebook group and the Mobigo platform (covoiturage.viamobigo.fr), as well as public transport. Car parks and a reserved accessible (PMR) car park are available at the site entrance.
How much do tickets and passes cost?
The Day Pass (Friday or Saturday) costs €48 (excluding booking fees) and the 2-Day Pass costs €84. For 2026 the box office is marked SOLD OUT — all passes are gone. Buying and reselling tickets between festival-goers is done through the official secure platform Reelax Tickets. Tickets are not nominative (name-bound).
Is camping available?
The festival campsite is fully booked for 2026. It is open from Friday 24 July at noon to Sunday 26 July at noon. Access requires a valid festival ticket plus a camping ticket. Good to know: no water or electricity hook-ups, fires, barbecues, gas stoves and generators are banned, gazebos are limited to 3x3 and 6x3 formats (max 2 per group of 20), vehicles and animals are not allowed, and portable speakers over 30 cm are prohibited.
Is there food on site, with vegetarian/vegan options?
Yes. Food stalls and bars are selected on sustainability criteria: local and seasonal produce, local suppliers and a vegetarian or vegan offer. The festival uses reusable deposit cups (in partnership with PREVAL), made in Saint-Claude — over 8,000 disposable containers avoided in 2024. The menu can be viewed via the FestApp app.
Is payment cashless?
Yes, entirely. All payments on site and at the campsite are cashless, via a connected wristband; no other payment method is accepted. Your account can be topped up online before the festival or on site at dedicated chalets. The cashless balance refund runs from 27 July to 3 August 2026.
How many stages are there and what is the daily line-up?
The festival has two complementary stages and 18 acts. On Friday 24 July: Boulevard Des Airs, L'Entourloop, Biga*Ranx, Luiza, Poligone, Alexandrie, Copycat, Shao x Cinza and Follo. On Saturday 25 July: Youssoupha, Kyo, Skip The Use, Miki, Les Wampas, Damantra, Fallen Lillies, Dead Chic and THK. DJ sets (afters) also animate the campsite.
Are children admitted and is there an age limit?
Yes. Children aged 6 to 12 (exclusive) enter free on presentation of ID, accompanied by an adult and wearing mandatory noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs. From 13 to 15 inclusive, entry is paid. Ear protection is strongly recommended (rental and purchase available at the prevention stands). Family activities and a summer toboggan run are also on offer.
What can and cannot you bring (prohibited items)?
Prohibited items include: bringing in alcohol, laser pointers, glass or single-use plastic bottles (stainless-steel and hard-plastic flasks are allowed), weapons, sharp or blunt objects, pyrotechnics, parasols, undeclared professional cameras, video cameras and drones, and animals (banned from the site, car parks and campsite). Possession or use of illicit substances is prohibited.
What accommodation is available nearby?
As the campsite is full, several alternatives exist in the Haut-Doubs: the Le Miroir and du Lac campsites; the tourist accommodation and holiday villages Azureva Métabief and VTF Le Bief Rouge; local partner residences and hosts; and a dedicated area for self-sufficient campervans and vans. The 2026 edition celebrates 25 years of Festival de la Paille (founded in the early 2000s), marking "25 years of live music, volunteer commitment and collective passion".
