Depuis 1998, le festival Les Fous Chantants d'Alès réunit chaque été près de 1 000 choristes amateurs venus de toute la France et d'Europe pour rendre hommage, en un grand concert choral, à la carrière d'un auteur-compositeur-interprète francophone. La 28e édition est annoncée du 24 au 31 juillet 2027 à Alès, dans les Cévennes : une semaine de répétitions au Fort Vauban précède un concert final aux arènes du Tempéras devant plusieurs milliers de spectateurs.
Au fil de ses éditions, le festival a mis à l'honneur des artistes tels que Jean Ferrat, son parrain, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Claude Nougaro, Julien Clerc, Pascal Obispo, Jean-Louis Aubert, Vianney ou encore Soprano, invité de la 27e édition en 2026 pour un double hommage à Charles Aznavour. L'artiste ou le répertoire mis à l'honneur pour l'édition 2027 n'était pas encore dévoilé au moment de la programmation.
