Movement Music Festival 2026: techno and electronic festival in Detroit
Born in 2000 as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Movement is rooted in the city that gave birth to techno. Held each Memorial Day weekend in Detroit, Michigan, the event celebrates electronic culture across multiple outdoor stages along the Detroit River. The festival honours the Motor City's musical heritage while showcasing the genre's new voices.
The 2026 edition features 110 artists centred on electronic music, with techno and house as core pillars. Headliners Dom Dolla, Danny Brown and Carl Cox embody the festival's diversity.
The sonic palette stretches from Detroit techno to acid house, through deep house, minimal techno, hard techno and dub techno. Drum & bass, breakbeat and hip-hop also feature, reflecting the plural roots of Detroit's scene.
