MPS Rastede 2026: the medieval folk metal festival in Lower Saxony, Germany
MPS Rastede takes over Schlosspark in Rastede, Lower Saxony. From May 14-17, this open-air festival celebrates folk metal and medieval rock with 10 bands specializing in folk and medieval sounds, in the historic setting of the castle park.
The 2026 edition highlights Germany's FEUERSCHWANZ and Saltatio Mortis, two pillars of German medieval metal, as well as Ireland's The O'Reillys & the Paddyhats, specialists in celtic punk. Sweden's YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS complete the headliners.
The festival explores the territories of metal and medieval rock, with bands like Subway to Sally, D'Artagnan, and Storm Seeker. You'll also find Versengold, Knasterbart, and Haggefugg, bringing touches of folk rock, punk, and industrial metal to this celebration of medieval musical heritage.
