Deichbrand 2027: four days of music and camping on the North Sea coast
Born in Cuxhaven, at the northern tip of Lower Saxony where the Elbe meets the North Sea, Deichbrand is getting its 22nd edition ready for Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 July 2027 at the Cuxhaven/Nordholz site in Germany. The grounds sit next to Nordholz airport and the base of the Graf Zeppelin naval air wing, both off limits to the public. Presale opened on 20 July 2026 at the first price tier, with no amount shown, and several categories have already sold out.
No 2027 names are out yet: the official site still shows the 2026 bill. That year brought Rise Against, Dropkick Murphys and Scooter, the punk of Feine Sahne Fischfilet, the rock of Beatsteaks and Giant Rooks, the metal of Electric Callboy, the hip-hop of Marteria, Sido and SDP, the house of Felix Jaehn and an "Electronic Selection" featuring Ellen Allien and Nora En Pure among others.
This is a festival you live on site. Camping runs nonstop from Thursday noon to Monday 19 July at noon, or from Wednesday at 3 pm with early arrival: tent areas, the Green Camp, camper van camps (Womo Watt has power), the Comfort Village with allotment gardens and glamping, and a Special Needs camp, with showers and free water everywhere. The Playground gets a sandy beach with beach volleyball and a giant pool, set up with the Cuxhaven seaside resort; the Infield offers bars, varied food, free drinking water and deposit cups you can donate to Viva con Agua. A 1,600 m² grocery store covers the basics, and everything is paid cashless through a free RFID chip on the wristband.
The All Days ticket covers the stages and the Playground but not camping, which you add alone or in a cheaper bundle; Kids tickets (ages 8-12) and VIP exist, and parking costs extra. No entry under 8, a parent-authorised adult up to age 15, and unaccompanied 16-17 year-olds leave the Infield before midnight. Drive via the A27, exit Neuenwalde, or take the train to Cuxhaven or Nordholz, then a bus shuttle paid on board, not covered by the Deutschlandticket.
