Launched in 2021, it is an outdoor concert series staged on the streets around the Burton Cummings Theatre, on a site bounded by Smith Street, Ellice Avenue and Notre Dame Avenue in downtown Winnipeg. Past bills have included The Sheepdogs, Rise Against, Billy Talent, Cheap Trick and Marianas Trench.
Which nights are scheduled in 2026, and at what time?
Two dates appear on the Burt calendar: Thursday 13 August at 5:00 pm with Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Malevolence and Waster, then Friday 14 August at 5:00 pm with The Beaches, Lights, LØLØ and sundayclub.
When does the box office open?
The Burton Cummings Theatre box office opens one hour before the event start time. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster Canada, by mobile delivery or will-call pickup with the credit card used for the purchase and photo ID; print-at-home tickets are no longer accepted.
Is there food and drink on site?
Yes: the block party brings together food and drink stalls, local vendors and activations, on top of the concession stands spread through the theatre itself.
Can you pay with cash?
Not for food and drink: every food and beverage transaction at the Burton Cummings Theatre is cashless, and contactless payment is encouraged for merchandise too. All major credit cards are accepted. The one exception is the coat check, which charges a 5 dollar cash-only fee.
