Chauffer dans la Noirceur 2026: reggae, electro and punk on the Normandy coast
Chauffer dans la Noirceur is an alternative festival on the Normandy coastline in Montmartin-sur-Mer, Manche. From July 10th to 12th, 2026, it gathers fans of reggae, electro and rock around a deliberately eclectic programme. Tickets at €31.
Eleven artists make up the line-up, including Yuston XIII, Sleaford Mods, Celkilt and Fat Dog.
The programme spans art punk, minimal wave, EBM, ethio-jazz, dub, novo dub, political hip-hop and new rave. Dance-punk, post-punk, math rock and grime complete an uncompromisingly alternative bill.

Is camping free?
Yes, camping is free and needs no booking. Right next to the festival site, it has showers and dry toilets, and you can set up from Thursday evening. Dogs are welcome on the campsite (but not inside the festival itself).
What are the opening times?
The evening sessions open at 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 5:50pm on Sunday, with final exit at 2:00am. The site is also open during the day from 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday.
What food is available?
L'Épicerie serves breakfast from 10:00am, while the food trucks and rotisserie open from midday. The bar and food stands run until the end of the concerts.
How do I get there and what is the nearest station?
Free shuttles (by reservation) serve the festival within a 15 km radius and from Granville station. By train, the nearest stations are Coutances, Granville and Carentan-les-Marais.
How do you pay on site?
Card payment is accepted and encouraged; cash can be loaded onto a cashless card. Only the craft-stall vendors take cash directly.
