📋About
FÊTE DU VIOLON À LUZY 2026
The FÊTE DU VIOLON À LUZY returns from February 13 to 15, 2026 to the Salle des Fêtes of Luzy to celebrate the king of traditional music instruments. This unique Burgundian festival honors the violin in all its expressions, from traditional Morvan tunes to contemporary creations. For three winter days, this small Saône-et-Loire town becomes the national temple of acoustic violin and its popular variations.
The 2026 edition features three headliners embodying the richness of the fiddler repertoire. GARENNE will offer their sensitive interpretation of French traditional music, while MOSTAFA TALEB will bring violin sounds in world music. TRIO DMR will explore the territories of chamber music and contemporary violin improvisation.
The program also welcomes original formations like 3 PAS D'ICI, COQUECIGRUES, GRUMPY O SHEEP and LES ARCHETIÃRES, who revisit the traditions of folk dancing and dance music. Violinist PIERRE HERVÉ completes this lineup promising moments of intense musical emotion and instrumental virtuosity in the spirit of old-time gatherings.
In the warm atmosphere of the Fête du Violon, Luzy perpetuates a centuries-old musical tradition where luthiers' and traditional musicians' know-how are transmitted. This winter festival offers more than concerts: it's an immersion in French popular culture, a meeting space between generations of fiddlers and a vibrant tribute to the instrument that has cradled village dances and festivities for centuries.
