Complextro is an energetic subgenre of electro house, characterized by its intricate, multi-layered synthesis, often featuring a rapid succession of chopped and glitched sounds, creating a complex, almost chaotic, yet danceable rhythm. Emerging around 2010, the genre was coined by Porter Robinson and draws heavily from fidget house, chiptune, and video game music, blending these influences with elements of dubstep. Key artists like Porter Robinson and Madeon were instrumental in defining its sound. Its distinctive, highly produced aesthetic left a notable mark on electronic dance music, influencing a generation of producers with its maximalist approach.
