Psychedelic Pop

Psychedelic Pop: 23 upcoming festivals, including 12 with tickets on sale.

Psychedelic Pop typically features less complex, hypnotic rhythms, repetitive and penetrating melodies, and often incorporates long, winding instrumental solos heavily processed with effects like distortion, phaser, and flanger, creating an expansive, often dreamy atmosphere. Emerging in the 1960s, it was deeply intertwined with the hippie counterculture, the Summer of Love, and influenced by the use of psychedelics like LSD. Iconic artists include The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and Pink Floyd in their early years. This genre significantly shaped the sound of popular music, bringing experimental textures and lyrical introspection to mainstream audiences.
