Rap Metal: 34 upcoming festivals, including 15 with tickets on sale.

Rap metal fuses the aggressive energy of heavy metal with the rhythmic and vocal stylings of hip-hop, characterized by distorted guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and often a blend of rapping and shouted vocals. This subgenre of rap rock and alternative metal emerged from a historical context where hip-hop acts like Beastie Boys and Run-D.M.C. sampled metal, while rock bands like Faith No More began incorporating hip-hop elements. Iconic artists include Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit, and Linkin Park. Its cultural impact was significant during the late 1990s and early 2000s, influencing a generation of crossover music.
