📋About
Froth & Fury 2027: Adelaide's heavy-music day out goes bigger at the Showground
It began in South Australia in 2021, in the thick of the pandemic, when 23 local bands played across two October days at Pirate Life Brewing. Growth was fast: a 2,500-capacity sell-out in 2022, then 4,000 people and three stages in 2023, followed by a move to Harts Mill in Port Adelaide in 2024. For 2026 the event shifted to January and to the Adelaide Showground, and added a first date in Perth. Presented by Disruptive Productions, it describes itself as independent and fan-owned.
The 2027 edition is a single Saturday, 30 January, again in Wayville, on the ground that once hosted the Big Day Out. Kentucky's Knocked Loose top a bill that stretches from extreme metal to punk. Clutch make their first Adelaide appearance since Soundwave 2014, Death Angel build their set around Act III (1990), and Deicide, Dark Angel and Corrosion of Conformity cover the veteran end. Paleface Swiss, Alpha Wolf, Counterparts, Terror and Cancer Bats lean towards the core scene; Propagandhi bring Canadian punk. On the synth side, Carpenter Brut close The Compound area, while France is represented by Igorrr and Sierra Veins. More acts are due; Wayside have pulled out.
Locals still get their turn. The Berzerker return after seventeen years away, Truth Corroded play their first show in seven years, and Guantanamo Bay City Rollers, Raccoon City, Oath of Damnation and Feel The Pain carry the Australian side. The Path to Fury contest pits South Australian bands against each other in free heats decided by audience vote, with the 7 November 2026 final at The Gov in Hindmarsh handing the winner a slot on the bill. New Breed, meanwhile, takes video auditions from 10 to 18-year-olds.
All ages are welcome, and under-10s get in free alongside an adult holding a ticket. Entry is via Rose Terrace from 10:30 am to 11:30 pm, with no re-entry; the event is cashless, with card payment at the bars, merch and food stalls, and a free water station lets you refill an empty bottle. Tattoo artists, markets and food trucks round out the day. No prices are listed yet, but a 25% deposit secures a ticket, with the balance split into four payments. See you in Australia on 30 January.
