Trap Edm

Trap Edm: 39 upcoming festivals, including 15 with tickets on sale.

Trap EDM is defined by its hard-hitting sub-bass 808 kicks, rapid-fire hi-hat patterns, and atmospheric synth pads, creating a dark, energetic, and often aggressive soundscape. This electronic subgenre emerged around 2012, blending the rhythmic intensity and sonic palette of early 2000s Southern US hip-hop trap with the expansive sound design and build-ups of electronic dance music. Key artists who pioneered and popularized the sound include Baauer, RL Grime, and Flosstradamus. Its distinctive sound has significantly influenced mainstream pop and hip-hop, cementing its place in contemporary music.
