Since 2017, the Halloween Tribute Festival, known to regulars as HTF, has turned Halloween into a covers night out. The idea is simple: tribute bands bring back the songs of well-known rock and metal acts, while the crowd turns up in costume, with a photo contest crowning the best outfits. This year everything happens at Espace François Mitterrand in Billy-Berclau, a 1,000-capacity hall in the Pas-de-Calais area of Hauts-de-France, run by WOLf RECORDS PRODUCTION.
Nine bands from five countries share the bill, three per night. Thursday 29 October starts with Dear Sally from France, paying homage to Evanescence, followed by Belgium's Chocolate Starfish as Limp Bizkit and Slovakia's Korn SK as Korn.
