Each summer, Into The Grave transforms the historic Oldehoofsterkerkhof cemetery in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, into a gathering place for metal and rock fans. This unique setting gives the festival a distinctive atmosphere, blending cultural heritage with sonic power.
The 2026 edition runs June 12-14 with 34 artists, including legends like ANTHRAX in thrash metal, MASTODON in progressive metal, and LACUNA COIL in gothic metal.
The lineup covers a wide spectrum: death metal, black metal, doom, metalcore, deathcore, classic heavy metal. Acts like Rivers of Nihil, Carach Angren, Severe Torture, and The Gathering showcase the diversity of the lineup, from technical to symphonic.

How many stages and what dates?
Into The Grave is a three-day metal festival on 12, 13 and 14 June 2026, spread across two stages: the Mainstage and the Reaper Stage.
What are the opening hours?
Subject to change: Friday 12 June from 2pm to midnight, Saturday 13 June from 11.30am to midnight, and Sunday 14 June from 1pm to midnight.
Is there a campsite?
Yes, the festival has a campsite. Access requires a valid ticket and the correct wristband; caravans and cars are not allowed on site, and single-burner camping stoves are tolerated (no barbecues or gas bottles).
How do you pay on site?
You can pay by debit/bank card, or with the cash card available at the info point (€1, rechargeable, with remaining balance refundable on site for a €2 fee).
Is the site wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The Oldehoofsterkerkhof grounds are largely flat and accessible to wheelchair users, with accessible toilets marked on the map. Disabled parking spaces are available (not bookable). Mobility scooters are not permitted.
What is the nearest station?
The festival takes place right in the centre of Leeuwarden, about a 10-minute walk from Leeuwarden station.
