FAQ

When is Midgardsblot 2026 and how many nights does it last?

The 2026 edition runs from Wednesday 12 to Saturday 15 August — four nights — at the Midgard Viking Centre in Borre, on the Oslo fjord. The four-day Festival Pass is priced at NOK 3,666, against NOK 1,166 for the Wednesday or Thursday day pass and NOK 1,299 for Friday or Saturday.

What are the site opening hours?

The festival is open from 14:00 to 01:30, Wednesday through Saturday. Ticket-to-wristband exchange takes place right next to the Midgard Viking Centre, typically Monday and Tuesday 10:00–18:00, Wednesday 10:00–22:00 and Thursday to Saturday 11:00–22:00. There is no public wifi on site, so print your ticket if your phone screen is unreliable.

Which stages host the shows?

The official site names two stages, Valhalla and Helheim, alongside programme slots billed as Valhalla Night and Night Hall, plus the Folkvangr Viking village and its craft market.

Is there a campsite, and what does it cost?

Yes — Camp Utgard, set at Prestegårdsstranda between beach and forest, a short walk from the festival grounds. It is paid and strictly 18+, with ID checked at check-in: NOK 666 for the camping ticket per person and NOK 999 for the tent ticket, covering a pitch for a tent of up to 4 x 4 metres, on top of a valid festival pass. On site you get 24-hour security, toilets, charging stations, communal grills and a bonfire area on the beach, with quiet hours from 04:00 to 08:00. Showers are free at Borrehallen between 11:00 and 15:00, or NOK 70 at Borre Familie Camping.

Are children welcome?

They are. Under-12s get in free when accompanied by a parent or guardian; from 12 to 16 a personal ticket is required and an adult must still come along. Every child under 17 has to be registered in advance, and wristbands are collected at the accreditation booth next to the ticket booth. The campsite is off limits to minors, and the festival does not sell hearing protection on site, so bring your own.

How accessible is the site?

Dedicated accessibility parking spaces sit near the museum area for holders of a valid disability parking card, and viewing ramps are in place at both the Valhalla and Helheim stages. A separate entrance is available for guests who cannot use the main field entrance. Visitors with valid companion documentation may bring one companion free of charge, registered before arrival and confirmed at accreditation.

How do you pay on site?

There is no cashless wristband: payment goes through the festival card system, which supports BankAxept, Visa, Mastercard, Diners, Amex, JCB, UnionPay and DiggiPay, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay when the linked card works with the terminals. At the Folkvangr Viking Market the traders are independent sellers and may use their own payment solutions.
