Festivals near Poitiers

Perched on its limestone spur above the Clain, Poitiers carries the gentle pace of a city of art and history — Romanesque bell towers, medieval lanes and a buzzing student campus — and that spirit carries straight into its festival life. On the edge of town, the Futuroscope park hosts Urban Corner each September, a gathering of rap and urban beats, while a few kilometres south in Vivonne, Le Chant des Groles fills late June with open-air French chanson, in the warm, free-spirited vein of La Rue Kétanou and Les Ogres de Barback.
