Breakcore

Breakcore is an aggressive, high-tempo genre of hardcore techno, defined by its use of distorted kicks, intricate breakbeats, and a vast array of samples, creating a chaotic and intense soundscape. Emerging in the mid-1990s, it evolved from darkcore and draws heavily from influences like hardcore techno, drum and bass, digital hardcore, noise music, and industrial music. Key artists like Venetian Snares are considered pioneers of the genre. Its confrontational sound has even been compared to music used in extreme interrogation techniques.
