Breakbeat Hardcore

Breakbeat Hardcore, also known as oldskool rave hardcore, is an energetic electronic genre defined by its distinctive breakbeat-oriented rhythms and percussive lines, creating an intense, driving atmosphere. Emerging in the late 1980s and early 1990s in the United Kingdom, it evolved from acid house, new beat, and techno hardcore, serving as a direct precursor to drum and bass and oldschool jungle. Early pioneers and influential DJs included Carl Cox and Doc Scott, who helped shape its raw sound. This genre was a vital response to the burgeoning electronic scene, which was at the time leaning towards trance and deep house.
