Melodic Metalcore

Melodic Metalcore: 29 upcoming festivals, including 13 with tickets on sale.

Melodic Metalcore blends the aggressive breakdowns and raw energy of hardcore punk with the intricate guitar harmonies and melodic sensibilities of melodic death metal, often incorporating clean vocals alongside harsh screams for dynamic contrast. Emerging in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it evolved from the "new school" hardcore scene, infusing heavier, often slower rhythms and guitar solos into its sound, sometimes drawing from emo influences. Iconic artists like Killswitch Engage, August Burns Red, and As I Lay Dying exemplify the genre's powerful yet tuneful approach. Its widespread appeal has significantly influenced modern heavy music, bridging the gap between extreme metal and more accessible sounds.
