How long has the Flâneries Musicales de Reims existed?
The festival was founded in 1990 by the city of Reims to showcase the city's heritage through classical music. In its very first season it offered around a hundred events and more than 13,000 free admissions; since 2012 its programming has been entrusted to pianist Jean-Philippe Collard.
What are the dates of the 2026 edition?
The 2026 musical summer opens on 18 June with the Prague Royal Philharmonic at the Basilique Saint-Remi and closes on 10 July with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra at the same venue. A large Picnic Concert extends the celebration on 18 July at the Parc de Champagne.
How many concerts are there, and where?
Every summer Reims becomes a "giant stage": around fifty concerts are held in some thirty different venues — UNESCO-listed monuments, exceptional champagne cellars, parks, gardens and the function hall of the City Hall. A third of the concerts are free.
