Prophecy Fest 2026: dark folk and atmospheric metal festival in Balve, Germany
A truly unique event, Prophecy Fest takes place annually in the Balve Caves (Balver Höhle), North Rhine-Westphalia. This spectacular natural site has hosted for several years a discerning lineup dedicated to dark folk, neofolk, and atmospheric black metal, with exceptional acoustics.
From September 3 to 5, 2026, 14 artists take over the caves for three days of atmospheric metal and dark sounds. Headliners include Polish Behemoth, Swedish Tiamat, and German project Empyrium.
The musical spectrum explores neoclassical dark wave, doom metal, post-rock, and shoegaze, featuring artists like Dornenreich, Secrets of the Moon, and Camerata Mediolanense. Between melodic black metal, dark ambient, and neoclassical sounds, the festival offers a unique immersive experience in an extraordinary natural setting.
