When does The Wake take place, and which edition is it?
The Wake is an intimate one-day festival held on Saturday 29 August 2026 at Loxwood Meadow, Loxwood, near Billingshurst, West Sussex (RH14 0AL). This is the 3rd edition, created by Jo Bartlett and Danny Hagan, founders of the Green Man Festival.
What are the times?
The car park and campsite open at 11am. Music starts at midday and finishes around 10:50pm. If you're camping, the Woodland Cafe serves breakfast from 8 to 9:30am on Sunday morning (tea, coffee and baps, with veggie options).
Is camping available and how much does it cost?
Yes, a camping ticket is required: a tent costs £25 (for 4 people) and a camper van pass £35 (for 4 people). There are no showers, but plenty of toilets and two drinking-water taps. Please leave the campsite by noon on Sunday 30 August; no stoves or fires are allowed.
Is parking free? What is the nearest train station?
Parking on site is free. The closest train station is Billingshurst (1hr 13min from London Victoria). The site is about 25 min from Guildford, 45 min from Brighton and 1 hour from London; for night-time pick-ups, it's best to book a local taxi when you arrive.
What food and drink is available, and can I pay by card?
Local suppliers offer Wagyu burgers (The Hangry Bear), jacket potatoes (Ye Olde Spud Shoppe), homemade ice cream, loaded fries, sweet and savoury crepes, plus the Woodland Bar (craft beers, local cider, wine, cocktails) and the Mead Shack. Veggie and vegan options are available, and the stalls accept both cash and card.
Is there a children's area? Is the festival family-friendly?
Yes, the Children's Area sits by the wishing tree in the woods, with Nature Makers' nature-themed classes (fairy gardens, dried-flower wreaths, willow birdfeeders…), all included in the ticket price, as well as storytelling. Entry is free for under-7s. The site is a safe place for children, who should be supervised by their parents at all times.
Is the site accessible?
The ground is a little bumpy in places but remains accessible. The Wake aims to be a festival for all: for any questions or special assistance, contact the team via the official website.
