An annual gathering of the Japanese doom metal and heavy psych scene, Tokyo Doomfest takes over Ryōgoku Sunrize, in the heart of Tokyo, from May 29th-31st, 2026. Featuring 13 bands, the event celebrates heavy, psychedelic, and atmospheric sounds, blending the Japanese local scene with international headliners.
The lineup highlights iconic bands of the genre: Green Milk From The Planet Orange, a figure of Japanese stoner rock, Tons, and Black Market, alongside Birushanah, Blind Witch, and Bahboon.
The lineup explores a broad spectrum, from sludge metal to psychedelic rock, through atmospheric black metal and noise rock. The atmosphere is immersive and contemplative, in the spirit of intimate doom festivals, far from large productions.
