Larry Heard (alias Mr. Fingers) with his quasi-mystical compositions for Trax Records and Marshall Jefferson defined the sound in the 1980s. In the 1990s, the Moodymann collective and the Detroit scene carried deep house to heights of expressiveness.

Lost Frequencies leads with 13 appearances, his accessible and melodic version of deep house having won a very wide audience.
