📋About
Reading Festival 2026: four days of Thames-side camping spanning guitars, rap and clubbing
Set on Richfield Avenue along the banks of the River Thames in Reading, England, Reading Festival is one of Britain's defining camping-and-rock institutions. The 2026 edition runs from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August, with arena music across Friday to Sunday and campsites opening from Thursday (Wednesday evening for Early Entry holders). A quirk of the site: a free shuttle-boat service ferries festival-goers across the river between the Green Car Park at Kings Meadow and the entrance, and Reading train station sits just a 15-20 minute walk away.
A bill that straddles every genre
The main stage, The Grid, is headlined by Charli XCX on Friday, Dave and Raye on Saturday, then Florence + The Machine, Chase & Status Live and Loyle Carner on Sunday. Around them: Fontaines D.C., Skepta, Kneecap, Gunna, Declan McKenna, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, Holly Humberstone and Bar Italia.
Five spaces, one multi-stage identity
- The Warehouse: the electronic and dance heart, with Mall Grab, Chris Stussy, Duke Dumont, Hybrid Minds and a heavy drum & bass streak.
- The Gallery (presented by Budweiser), The Ballroom and The Canopy: indie discoveries, rap and rising talent.
A camping festival at heart, Reading also offers LOTUS (boutique) and ORCHARD (premium) glamping options. Under-13s enter free, and a Challenge 25 policy applies at the bars.
