Bass Coast 2026: British Columbia's electronic music gathering
Bass Coast is an intimate electronic music festival set in an exceptional natural environment in British Columbia, Canada. Since its inception, it has attracted a community of fans passionate about cutting-edge electronic music and underground techno in an atmosphere where visual art and nature intertwine.
The 2026 edition brings together 23 exploratory artists, headlined by Christian Löffler, Paul Woolford, and Young Franco. The lineup blends drum & bass, leftfield, and experimental hip-hop.
The festival explores diverse sonic territories: dubstep, jungle, liquid funk, glitch hop, and grime sit alongside more atmospheric sounds like ambient techno and downtempo. Tech house and melodic house enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy, with artists like KiNK delivering unpredictable sets.

What stages does Bass Coast have?
Set in Merritt, British Columbia (Canada), the festival spreads its music across stages named Somewhere, Slay Bay, The Cabin, Nowhere and Slowtempo — the last of which also hosts the “Brain” workshops. The compact layout makes stage-hopping easy.
When does the 2026 edition take place and how long does it run?
Bass Coast 2026 runs from July 10 to 13. General admission opens Friday, July 10 at 9am, the music ends at 6am on Monday and everyone must leave the site by 6pm.
Is camping included with the ticket?
Yes — the General Admission pass (from $469 CAD) covers camping along with the music, workshops, yoga and art installations. Any vehicle coming onsite needs an “Enviro Vehicle Pass”, and reserved sites (Camp A, Ventura) are available as paid upgrades.
Can you arrive early to set up?
Early entry on Wednesday and Thursday is available by adding an “Early Entry” ticket to your General Admission pass. Note that leaving and re-entering during the festival costs a $20 re-entry fee per person.
What is the minimum age to attend?
Bass Coast is a 19+ event, and government-issued photo ID is checked at the gate.
Is there accessible camping?
Yes, an Accessibility camping area is available; its pass holders — along with Camp A and Ventura guests — enter through the “A Gate” rather than the main gate.
How long has the festival been running?
Founded in 2009 by Liz Thomson and Andrea Graham, Bass Coast celebrates its 18th edition in 2026. The independent, sponsor-free festival was named DJ Mag's Best Boutique Festival in North America two years running.
