Dance music, often called EDM or club music, is characterized by its driving electronic rhythms, synthetic textures, and high-energy atmosphere, designed explicitly for dancing in clubs, discotheques, and large festivals. Its origins lie in the late 20th century, evolving from disco and funk, and heavily influenced by the rise of electronic instruments and DJ culture. Iconic artists like Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, and Tiësto have defined the genre's sound. Its cultural impact is immense, fostering a global community through rave parties and massive music festivals worldwide.
