How many stages are there?
Four, all set up inside the Scandic Hell hotel, including one devoted to up-and-coming Youth Blues acts and a brand-new piano blues and boogie-woogie stage. On the opening night, Thursday 3 September, only two stages are running before the full set-up kicks in.
What are the dates and how are the days organised?
Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2026. Walter Trout opens proceedings on the Thursday evening, music resumes on Friday 4 in the late afternoon and again at night, and Saturday 5 runs all day long.
Which anniversary is the 2026 edition?
The 35th. Blues in Hell started in 1992 as a small local event with Norwegian acts only; it now brings top-level international blues names to Hell on the first weekend of September.
Can you stay in a motorhome?
Yes. A dedicated motorhome parking area (bobilparkering) is provided, and the organisers publish the 2026 pitch map on their website.
Where do you eat and sleep during the festival?
Everything happens under one roof: 2,400 square metres of blues, with the bars, restaurants, stages and bedrooms of the Scandic Hell, a hotel known for its food and drink, with over 250 refurbished rooms plus a new restaurant and bar. With the Scandic hotel packages sold out, the Radisson Blu at Værnes, just 483 metres away, is releasing rooms for festival-goers.

The Scandic Hell sits two minutes from Trondheim Airport Værnes, in Stjørdal. Night buses take audiences back to Trondheim once the concerts are over.
