❓FAQ
How many stages does the Caribana Festival have?
The festival runs three stages on the shores of Lake Geneva: the Grande Scène, the Scène du Lac and La Plage. The two main stages have also been renamed for the 2026 edition.
When and where does the festival take place?
The 34th edition runs from 17 to 20 June 2026, four nights from Wednesday to Saturday, in the open air at Crans-sur-Nyon (canton of Vaud), between Lausanne and Geneva. Caribana bills itself as the first open-air festival of the summer in French-speaking Switzerland.
Can children attend, and from what age is a ticket required?
Children under 8 get in free, provided they are accompanied by an adult. Children aged 8 to 16, as well as students, apprentices and AVS/AI beneficiaries, qualify for a reduced rate (on presentation of valid proof).
How do I get there, and are there shuttles?
The festival works with the Nyon-region public transport network (TPN) so you can travel free of charge between the site and home, and offers a car-sharing platform as well as bike rentals. For night owls, a late shuttle to Lausanne (CHF 15, limited availability) leaves the festival at 2am, or 3am on some nights.
Is the festival accessible for people with reduced mobility?
Yes. Caribana provides parking spaces and dedicated access for people with reduced mobility (PMR), with a team of volunteers on hand to assist. About 70% of the ground is covered with reusable plastic tiles that make it easier for wheelchairs and pushchairs to move around.
What food is available on site?
The festival is committed to offering healthy, balanced food made from quality, local and varied produce. Since 2007, Caribana has used a deposit-based tableware system (plates, cutlery and cups can be returned to be washed and reused).
How long has the festival been running?
2026 is the 34th edition. It all began in 1989, when a group of music-loving friends threw a free party on a plot of the Crans harbour. A second stage was added as early as 1997, and the event now welcomes tens of thousands of visitors.
What is the festival's attendance?
Caribana reports 30,000 festival-goers across the 4 days, i.e. roughly 7,500 per night on average — an approximate figure as it does not account for the same visitor re-entering.
