Manchester Punk Festival 2027: a DIY punk Easter, 26-28 March
It all started with three promoters talking over drinks in a Manchester pub: what if the bands they championed could play to rooms full of people hearing them for the first time? That idea still drives things. The crew builds the event in its spare time, books it from the UK's independent punk circuit and holds to one firm rule: discrimination of any kind gets zero tolerance. The official site now talks about a decade of the festival. The 2027 edition lands on Easter weekend and promises more than 140 bands and artists spread across seven of the city's venues.
The first wave went out on 2 September 2026, with no day-by-day split yet. The organisers call AJJ a long-held dream booking; the band arrives with its new album, Dirty Power. P-Rock alumni King Prawn make a third appearance, while London's The Skinner Brothers play the event for the first time. ONSIND and Bruise Control return, The Ergs! and The Spook School make rare appearances, and TAQBIR debuts here with one of only two UK dates it has confirmed for 2027 so far. More names fill out the wave, among them Goodbye Blue Monday, Sunliner, Sex Germs, An Slua, Rivalry, The Kimberly Steaks, One Day Elliott and Salt the Snail.
