📋About
Slottsfjell 2027: Karpe's farewell run closes two days by the fjord in Tønsberg
Founded in 2003 on Slottsfjellet, the castle hill it is named after, Slottsfjell grew into one of the big dates of the Norwegian summer: at its peak a single edition drew more than 60,000 admissions, and past bills featured Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, The 1975, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragons, First Aid Kit and the rock of Biffy Clyro. Winner of Yourope's Green 'n' Clean award in 2010, it was not held after 2018, between the pandemic and a rebuild, then came back in 2022 on a new site.
Only one act has been confirmed for 2027 so far, and it is a big one: Norwegian hip-hop group Karpe, on its final festival summer, close the weekend on Saturday July 3 on the Kongescenen. They know the place well, having played it in 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2022. The rest of the line-up and the running order are still to come.
The Kaldnes grounds cover about 3 hectares on the Nøtterøy side, a four-minute walk from the harbour and close to the station, with a park, a food hall, a sandy beach and views over the fjord and Slottsfjellet. There are eight stages in all, including Kongescenen and Baglerscenen in the open air and Verftet inside the halls. After dark, Natten turns a 14,000 m² former industrial hall (28 m high, room for 12,000) into a club until sunrise; it grew out of the old Kastellnatt after-party and has sold out every year since 2022.
Tickets are priced in Norwegian kroner and sold only through Ticketmaster: NOK 2,495 for both days, NOK 3,395 with Natten, NOK 1,395 for Friday alone (NOK 1,995 with Natten); Saturday is already sold out. Entry is 18+, with no exception for minors with an adult; Natten is 20+, and the waterside Premium area is 22+. Camp Gunnarsbø, in the town centre, takes campers (NOK 595 per person, NOK 774 per pitch, four per tent), with showers at the nearby pool, a skatepark and a volleyball court. Oslo is an hour's drive away, Torp airport twenty minutes, and VKT night buses run.
Slottsfjell 2027 takes place on July 2 and 3 in Tønsberg, the oldest town in Norway, and is one of the July 2027 festivals; full details on the official website.
