📋About

Soirées du Castellet 2026: jazz, piano and light music in Le Castellet

Les Soirées du Castellet offers intimate concerts in the hilltop village of Le Castellet, in the Var department of Provence, southern France. Over two weeks, 12 artists perform in this medieval setting, around a programme centred on jazz, pop and salon light music.

The 2026 programme does not announce headliners, in keeping with the discreet, refined tradition that defines Les Soirées du Castellet. Boogie-woogie, easy listening, classical piano and light electronic music form the musical foundation of the event.

The specialisation in jazz, piano and light music — boogie-woogie, easy listening and lounge — makes Les Soirées du Castellet a refined event befitting its host village. The Provençal nocturnal setting adds elegance to each concert.

August 1–14, 2026 in Le Castellet, Var, Provence, France. Programme and booking details on the official website.

FAQ

How many concerts does the 2026 edition include, and on which dates?

The 23rd edition runs from Saturday 1 to Friday 14 August 2026, with six evenings: the George Sand Trio with Violaine Despeyroux on 1 August, German pianist Luca Sestak and his jazz trio on the 3rd, François Dumont's Chopin-Debussy-Liszt recital on the 6th, the Corsican polyphonies of A Filetta with their Corsic'Amen programme on the 9th, the Piano Night on the 11th, and a violin-cello-piano trio on the 14th.

Where and at what time do the concerts start?

Concerts take place outdoors on the Place du Champ de Bataille, in front of the Castellet castle, starting at 9:30pm — except for the Piano Night on 11 August, which strings together three recitals at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm. Latecomers can only be seated during a break in the concert and depending on access.

How much do tickets cost?

Depending on the evening, full price ranges from 25 to 30 €, rising to 30-35 € for the François Dumont recital and for A Filetta. The reduced rate of 20 to 25 € applies to under-26s, people with disabilities and jobseekers, on presentation of supporting proof. Entry is free for children under 13. The Piano Night has its own pricing: 15 € per recital, 30 € for two or three.

How do you book and pay?

Booking is done by card through the festival's online box office, hosted by Billetweb, with tickets then printed or shown on a smartphone. Tickets can also be bought on site on concert evenings, in cash, by cheque or by card. Tickets are non-returnable, non-exchangeable and non-refundable, and the announced programme may see changes in the works performed.

Where can you park, and is the site accessible?

Two paying car parks are available at the entrance to the village. Accessible parking for visitors with reduced mobility is limited and located in front of the festival enclosure.

How long has the festival existed?

Les Soirées du Castellet were founded in 2003 by François Gévaudan, then deputy mayor and a keen music lover. The festival is now chaired by Thérèse Dumond, with Olivier Metay as artistic director and an all-volunteer team, backed by the Castellet town hall which handles the logistics. Partner wine estates offer a tasting at the end of the concerts.
