Sŵn 2026: three days of new music across Cardiff's venues, 15 to 17 October
Since 2007, Sŵn has been Wales' music discovery festival. This three-day, multi-venue new music event in Cardiff city centre celebrates its 19th year from 15 to 17 October 2026. It is run by the Clwb Ifor Bach team and is part of Cardiff Music City Festival, which runs from 2 to 17 October 2026.
The bill mixes Welsh acts with artists from the UK and beyond, with more than a hundred names: The Orielles, Working Men's Club, Personal Trainer, Dove Ellis, Cerys Hafana or World News. Sŵn's bet is to book emerging bands before they fill bigger stages.
The festival is 18+: ID is required at the wristband exchange and may be checked at each venue. Music starts around 5 PM on Thursday, around 3 PM on Friday and around midday on Saturday; wristband exchange opens at midday on the first two days and at 10 AM on Saturday, subject to change. The 2026 venues are announced closer to the date.
Alongside it, Sŵn Connect is a conference for music industry professionals. Information and line-up: swnfest.com.
