A summer gathering in Auvergne, the World Festival Ambert takes over the lake area in Ambert in mid-July to celebrate world music and rock in a natural setting. This free festival blends international headliners with new discoveries, creating a moment of conviviality and musical sharing in the heart of the Livradois-Forez region.
The 2026 edition brings together 10 artists across an eclectic programme. Australian hard rock from Airbourne sits alongside the electronic sounds of Mosimann, while Gaël Faye and Gaëtan Roussel represent the diversity of French chanson.
The programme explores classic rock, house, flamenco and post-punk, with touches of EDM and hard rock. This musical palette reflects the festivals ambition to bring all audiences together around varied sonic discoveries.

How many stages does the festival have?
The World Festival Ambert has three stages: the Grande Scène (up to 9,000 festival-goers, headliners), the Chapiteau dedicated to world cultures and dances, and the Petite Scène by the water, focused on DJs, afters and new discoveries.
What are the dates?
The 2026 edition takes place on 16, 17 and 18 July, at the La Prairie site in Ambert.
How do I pay on site?
Payment is exclusively via a free cashless wristband or card that acts as an electronic wallet. You can top it up online before the event or at the cashless banks on site; the remaining balance is refunded online from 20 July to 14 August 2026.
Can I camp?
The festival offers pitches for tents and fitted-out vehicles, plus a selection of nearby campsites. The camping pass is paid and was sold out for 2026.
Is the festival family-friendly?
Admission is free for under-6s and at a preferential rate for under-11s. A Festi'Bambin area is provided for children under 12.
