Estivale Open Air d'Estavayer 2026: Hip-Hop and Variety Festival in Switzerland
Estivale Open Air d'Estavayer takes over Place Nova Friburgo near Lake Neuchâtel from July 29 to August 1, 2026. This Swiss festival features 11 artists illustrating the spectrum of the Francophone hip-hop scene and French variety music. Since its creation, the event has established itself as a friendly summer gathering by the lake. The lakeside setting of Estavayer provides a natural backdrop to this celebration of Francophone urban and popular music.
The 2026 edition features mainstream programming led by Gims, Youssoupha, and Dub Inc. The lineup also includes Bob Sinclar, Amel Bent, and Christophe Maé. This selection combines French rap, festive house, and Francophone urban pop.
Musically, Estivale Open Air explores the territories of French rap, dance-pop, and contemporary R&B. Sub-genres like conscious hip hop, hardcore hip hop, dancehall, dub, electro house, and French house weave a festive palette. How many stages?
Two. The Grande scène hosts Youssoupha, GIMS, Dub Inc, Bob Sinclar, Christophe Maé, Amel Bent, Tayc and Djadja & Dinaz, while the Scène du lac takes Bilal Hassani, Médine, Vendredi sur Mer and Miillyrose among others.
Is the festival cashless?
Entirely. A top-up cashless card is handed to you on arrival and activating the account costs CHF 1, charged on your first top-up. You can load credit by scanning the QR code on the card, through an online account (credit card or Twint), or at the cashless banks on site, which also take cash.
Does the card work at the campsite as well?
It does: cashless is accepted at every festival and campsite outlet — food, bars and merchandising. Up to two cards can be combined on one payment, and your remaining balance is shown at the end of each transaction.
What happens to unspent credit?
You can request a refund from your cashless account during a limited window that closes a few weeks after the event; nothing is processed after the deadline. If you never opened an account, create one first using the six-letter tag printed on the card. Questions go to [email protected].
