Jazz in Marciac 2026: 48th edition of the world's major jazz festival in the Gers village — 17 days from 20 July to 5 August
Jazz in Marciac returns for its 48th edition from 20 July to 5 August 2026, transforming the 1,200-inhabitant village of Marciac in the Gers (south-west France) into one of the longest-running and most reputable jazz festivals in Europe. The official site confirms the seventeen-day format running across three weeks under the Chapiteau, the open-air Bis stage and the village square.
The 2026 line-up brings several global headliners back to the Gers: STING (already sold out at time of writing per the festival's news section), DIANA KRALL, KOOL & THE GANG and IMANY — the kind of cross-over names that have helped Jazz in Marciac maintain mass-audience appeal alongside its purist programming.
The jazz core of the festival remains unmatched in France: IBRAHIM MAALOUF, MARCUS MILLER, RICHARD BONA, ERIK TRUFFAZ, SAMARA JOY, Cécile McLorin Salvant, ROBERTO FONSECA and ANNE PACEO all bring solo or quartet sets under the Chapiteau. A notable cross-bill on Monday 3 August pairs FEU! CHATTERTON with pianist Baptiste Trotignon — the kind of French-jazz collaboration the festival has made part of its signature.
Marciac, Gers, France — 20 July to 5 August 2026 under the Chapiteau and the open-air stages. Tickets through the official box office at jazzinmarciac.com (telephone reservations at 05 62 09 33 33 on weekdays).
