📋About
Rock Werchter: the Belgian rock festival crowned 'world's best'
Few European festivals can match the track record of this event, pitched every summer on the Werchter Festivalpark in Flemish Brabant near Leuven. Held annually since 1976, it has won the Arthur Award for best festival in the world at the ILMC conference in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2012 and 2014, and has been recognised by the European Festival Awards for its line-ups and organisation. That pedigree shows in the numbers: according to Wikipedia, the site welcomes up to 88,000 fans per day, totalling close to 149,500 attendees across the four days.
The 2026 edition runs from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 July and fields more than 150 acts, true to a DNA where stadium-sized rock meets pop and electronic music. Top billing goes to The Cure and Gorillaz, backed by Twenty One Pilots, Mumford & Sons and cult outfit The xx. Fans of sharper guitars will find Pixies and Franz Ferdinand on the bill.
The programme spans the full spectrum, from Indie Rock and Rock to Alternative Rock, making it one of the essential dates on the European summer circuit. On tickets, the official site lists a four-day combi pass at €315 and day tickets at €140 for Thursday and Friday, while Saturday and Sunday are already sold out (waiting lists open). All service, mobility and eco-contribution fees are included.
