📋About
Tons of Rock 2027: four days of loud guitars on the Ekebergsletta plain in Oslo
Born in 2014 at Fredriksten fortress in Halden, Tons of Rock moved in 2019 to Ekebergsletta in Oslo to make room for bigger crowds. In 2024 it drew a record 150,000 visitors, and organisers now bill it as the largest rock and metal event in the country. The 2027 edition runs from Wednesday June 23 to Saturday June 26, and the grounds host three stages: Scream, Vampire and Moonlight.
A second wave of fourteen additions has taken the bill to 31 acts, sorted by day with no running order yet. Wednesday: Mötley Crüe, Simple Plan, Satyricon, Gåte, Overkill, Speed and Wage War. Thursday: Helloween, Turnstile, Amon Amarth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, I Prevail, Motionless in White, Múr and Clawfinger. On Friday, Faith No More play a show billed as exclusive, Pierce The Veil make their Norwegian debut and Borknagar appear at the festival for the first time, alongside Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, OnklP & De Fjerne Slektningene, Seigmen, Soen and Gwar. Saturday: Scorpions, Judas Priest, Kreator, Watain, Blue Medusa, Green Lung, Neckbreakker and Oslo Ess, who are marking fifteen years together.
Gates stay open from noon to midnight, with music from 1 pm to 11 pm. There is no parking for festivalgoers, so take shuttle 91 from Oslo Central Station on a Ruter zone 1 ticket, trams 13 or 19 to Sportsplassen, or the metro to Brattlikollen and then about twenty minutes on foot; at night, police may keep taxis away. Campers aged 18 and over stay at the three-star Ekeberg campsite right next door, from Tuesday afternoon until Sunday noon, in tents, motorhomes, buses or the motorcycle camp, on a ticket issued in their own name. A free companion with a certificate, wheelchair platforms at every stage, a "Blind Spot" area for visually impaired fans and vegetarian, vegan and allergy-friendly food round out the welcome.
Festival passes and day tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster, with no prices posted by the organisers; the pass price goes up on November 1, 2026. Tons of Rock 2027 is one of the festivals in Norway; see also festivals in June 2027 and the official website.
