Frantic Fest: Ravenna's Underground Metal Festival
At Tikitaka Village in Ravenna, Frantic Fest stands as one of Italy's most radical metal gatherings. This boutique festival celebrates extreme sounds in all their diversity, from technical death metal to funereal doom metal, via old school thrash metal. The 2026 edition brings together sixteen bands pushing the limits of sonic intensity in an authentic underground atmosphere, far from large commercial festivals.
The program revolves around three legends of extreme metal: VOIVOD, Canadian pioneers of progressive metal who continue to fascinate with their futuristic vision, OBSCURA, German masters of technical death metal with dizzying compositions, and CARPENTER BRUT, French darksynth producer who fuses synthwave and metal aesthetics in spectacular visual performances.
The lineup explores all shades of extreme with Evoken, American masters of contemplative funeral doom metal, Necrot and their raw death metal, as well as SACRED REICH, veterans of politically engaged thrash. The festival's punk dimension shines through with Ratos de Porão, Brazilian icons of crossover thrash, and Wolfbrigade, Swedish crust punk reference.
Frantic Fest cultivates a radical identity where pagan black metal (PERCHTA), oppressive death-doom (Phobocosm) and quirky dark cabaret sounds (Spiritual Front) coexist. Bands like The Crown and VÍGLJÓS complete this uncompromising lineup. This festival addresses true aficionados of extreme music, offering an intense and authentic experience in the heart of Italian Romagna.
