Dub Festivals 2026-2027

66 upcoming festivals feature Dub, 15 where it dominates; 24 with tickets on sale.

Dub at festivals

Dub began in Jamaica in the late 1960s, when engineers such as King Tubby, Lee "Scratch" Perry and Scientist stripped the vocals off reggae tracks and played the mixing desk like an instrument, heavy on echo and delay. It first lived through sound systems, which prized exclusive versions. A dub festival is therefore often about sound systems and speaker stacks rather than a standard stage, especially in France and the UK.

In France, Télérama Dub Festival works as an autumn tour: its 2026 edition visits Marseille, Lyon, Paris, Toulouse and, for the first time, Barcelona, from mid-October to early December. In the UK, dub has a place at summer festivals such as Shambala in August and The Beat-Herder in July. In the US, Reggae Rise Up Florida in March books dub acts too. Bring earplugs: people dance right by the speakers.
