Nestled in an exceptional open-air theater in Saint-Malo-du-Bois, Vendée, Festival de Poupet has been an essential summer destination for over thirty years. From early to late July, this outdoor festival offers mainstream programming blending rock, pop, hip-hop and reggae in a uniquely bucolic setting.
The 2026 edition boasts an impressive lineup with ZZ Top, Dropkick Murphys and Gims headlining. French chanson is represented by Vanessa Paradis, Suzane and Oxmo Puccino.
With nearly 47 artists programmed over several weeks, Poupet stands out for its ability to unite different generations. From Julien Doré to Zaz through Danakil, folk and metal coexist naturally. Prices from 46 to 75 euros keep the experience accessible.

❓FAQ
How long has the Festival de Poupet been running?
Born in 1987 from a village fête in St Malo du Bois, Poupet has become one of the most respected festivals in western France. It is run by a non-profit association relying on around 1,000 volunteers and just 4 paid staff.
Where do the concerts take place?
The festival is held outdoors across two sites: the Théâtre de Verdure in Poupet (St Malo du Bois), a green natural amphitheatre capped at 5,000 spectators, and, for its big event nights, the Clairière du Bois Chabot (St Laurent sur Sèvre), which holds up to 30,000 people standing.
When is the 2026 edition and how many concerts are there?
The 2026 season runs throughout July, from the 1st to the 22nd, with around fifteen concerts (12 to 16 dates depending on the year). Each evening features between 1 and 5 artists depending on the bill.
What time do the gates open?
Gates open one hour before the time printed on your ticket (the start of the first concert), and the site stays open until the end of the evening, usually around midnight. Note that once you are inside, leaving is final — there is no re-entry.
How do I get to the festival?
Set deep in the countryside, the site has no direct public transport: the easiest options are car (organised car parks on site) or car-sharing. The nearest regional (TER) station is Cholet, 25 minutes away, the nearest high-speed (TGV) station is Angers (1 hr), and the closest airport is Nantes (1 hr 15).
Are shuttles available?
For the big night of 22 July 2026 at the Clairière (La Mano 1.9, L2B, Theodora, Gims), seven return shuttle routes serve 13 towns across the region (Nantes, Angers, Cholet, La Roche-sur-Yon, Les Sables d'Olonne and more) at a flat 13 € return fare, with compulsory online booking on the official website.
Is the festival accessible for people with reduced mobility?
Yes. A dedicated PRM car park is available on presentation of a disability badge or recent medical proof, and a reserved area is set up by the sound desk in the middle of the theatre, with accessible toilets. The Clairière site also has a PRM platform with adapted toilets and roll-out access mats. A specific PRM ticket must be booked in advance.
Can I camp or find accommodation nearby?
The Poupet site has a genuine tourist vocation, including a 3-star campsite, Camping la Vallée de Poupet. Other recommended options are the Hôtel Aloë*** (a festival partner) and the Château de la Barbinière****.
